it pours in Westwood.
------------------------------------------------------------------- Less than two weeks ago freshman receiver Randall Carroll took to Twitter to disparage the UCLA football team and question the coaches’ personnel decisions. Brian Theriot, the father of seldom-used reserve fullback Trevor Theriot, took it a bit further on Facebook over the weekend: “The sad state of UCLA football,” Theriot posted. “My gosh…..I have never seen more misuse of talent and a greater degree of offensive stagnancy on play calling and use of personnel….we have the players. “UCLA under Coach Rick (Neuheisel)….is horrible. Wayne Moses the running back coach is horrible. The sets are Pop Warner in movement, motion, and slots. I mean a Pop Warner type offense that Tim Tebow would laugh at. UCLA is playing with great athletes but giving great athletes boys and girls club sets. Norm Chow and Wayne Moses are old school and gone. “I have decided to just show up and Coach at UCLA Spaulding Field today. I am going to just step out of the ‘parents’ section of the stands and coach the backfield. I am going to pick (Kevin) Prince as my starter and I am going with (Johnathan) Franklin/(Derrick) Coleman tail(back) and Theriot at fullback.” The last paragraph is priceless and had me laughing for a solid minute or two. The thought of some parent coming down from the stands like that is just undeniably hilarious.

I am dead serious. I’ll face Drew Brees any day of the week before I face him again.” |

Typical whining parent whose kid isn't playing. Hey Mr. Theriot, your son isn't as good as Moline and that is why he doesn't play. Just shut your mouth and enjoy the fact your son is getting a world class education FOR FREE you douche

turns out the whole thing was bogus. theriot's dad came out and said his facebook account had been hacked, he went on to say he had nothing but respect for the program and its coaches.
interesting side note on the bogus claims. adam maya, who runs the UCLA blog for the register has yet to issue any apology for running the bogus story, in fact the story is still up on the UCLA page, but what else would you expect from maya, the guy is a trojan alum covering UCLA. and people wonder why print media is dying, maybe because a jackass like maya can't get his stories straight. would also like to apologize for calling theriot's dad a douche w/out knowing the whole story, i guess thats why you get the facts correct before you report |

I am Brian Theriot and a loyal Bruin. My Facebook was hacked over 13 times in 72 hours with my password being randomly changed then sent to me via email on a reset code. My facebook is very fun for me and my family but not given to comments or statements that were posted on it over the weekend. I have, as an NCAA Champion and UCLA Captain, a devoted love to UCLA Football And Track. I am a big fan of Coach Rick and the direction of the program. In no way, shape, or form do I agree or condone what was put on my facebook. And, for anyone that would like to speak with me personally: [redacted - BN.]. My last post on my facebook prior to this mess was about my favorite.....Brett Favre. I have spanked the Register and asked for a retraction. Frankly, I am just a dad riding out four more games and enjoying a great UCLA experience. Nothing more and nothing less. and the register has since removed the story |

http://ucla.freedomblogging.com/2009...-program/8857/ Not only has the story not been removed. Maya has since posted a follow-up story in which he made Brian Theriot look like a liar (which in my opinion he is). Read for yourself. Maya: There were multiple posts on your Facebook page attacking the program, beginning Saturday night and continuing through Monday morning. In-between there were multiple posts on Brett Favre and Halloween photos, which have not been removed. If you posted those, you would have seen the comments from Saturday night attacking the team. Are those your posts from Sunday? Theriot: “I’m a big Brett Favre fan. My last post I think was about 5:20 p.m., Sunday.” Maya: Right. And the posts attacking the program came before and after that. The first ones were from Saturday evening, shortly after the UCLA-Oregon State game. The others came on Monday morning. You’ve admitted you posted Sunday. So if someone else wrote these posts on Monday, what about the posts from Saturday night that disparage the team? Theriot: “Those aren’t me. I don’t attack the program. I’ll be honest with you, do I disagree with the use of my son? Yes, but that’s irrelevant. That’s no reason to attack the problem. In the midst of all this (on Monday), I was communicating with Bob Field, the associate athletic director, about the situation with my son.” Maya: OK, but I want to make sure we’re clear on this: There were comments on your Facebook attacking the program on Saturday night. You said you posted the Halloween photos and comments on Brett Favre on Sunday. Did you write the comments from Saturday night? Theriot: “I was in Corvallis. How would I do that?” (If you can't tell he's lying by now, you need to take off those powder and maize glasses) Maya: You still could have easily logged into a computer. You could have even done it from your phone. So, we know that he disapproves of the way his son is being used. We know he's gone as far as emailing the UCLA staff asking why his son isn't playing and what his son has to do in order to see the field. We know that he admitted to posting on Sunday yet didn't remove the disparaging remarks that were posted on Saturday. We also know that hacking someone's facebook is nearly impossible unless you know the person's email and password. If hacking someone's facebook were so easy, you would think it would have already been done to someone a little more famous than this guy. Even if someone were to theoretically hack your facebook, you could easily retrieve the password using the lost password feature. The, 'my facebook got hacked' excuse is the lamest I've heard yet. It's even lamer that you believe him. Last edited by all hail king tedford : 11-04-2009 at 09:23 PM. |

Reading some of the responses from UCLA fans is good for several laughs.
http://www.bruinsnation.com/2009/11/...till-featuring There's no way some of these people went to UCLA. My favorite, " Why Mr. Maya published this story in the place, without speaking to Mr. Theriot or ascertaining the accuracy of the Facebook post," and "interesting comments on the OCR's website. indicating that people who know Mr. Theriot, find the statement posted on his facebook page to be in character for him, and wondering if the ‘hacked’ allegation was him trying to cover up, now that he realizes this damages his son more than helps." |

This whole story is so trivial and silly. The matter would have already been swept under the rug by now if not for the continued attempts of Brian Theriot to save face.
