current and former.

Thursday night, two former Beavs Chad and TJ, were the only two receivers to catch a pass in the Bengals win over the Ravens. I didn't think I was going to be able to watch the game, but comcast was nice enough to show in on their "INHD" channel.

Saturday, the basketball team looked pretty good for 32 minutes in their game agaisnt Fresno. However after going on an 8-0 run to get the lead to 7 after trailing by 1 for the first time all game, the team went the final 8 minutes only scoring 2 points. Good thing the football game went much better! The Beavs battled a very good Hawaii offense, to came away with a 35-32 win. The ironic part about the game was that Hawaii was the team who put together long drives, while the Beavs had a 102 yard kick off return for a TD and an 80 yard TD toss.

Sunday, just as I was headed out to put up Christmas lights on the house, CBS goes to the Browns/Chiefs game which is in OT, and who is QB for the Browns? Former OSU QB, Derek Anderson! The kid in his first real NFL action, led his team to two 4th quarter TDs, and had a 33 yard scramble in OT to set up the game winning TD. Way to go DA.

And the Beavs are ranked in both polls for the first time since the 03 season!

Also found out that OSU will be facing Missouri in the Sun Bowl. Not a "fancy"
match up, but should be a fun game.

Monday, after starting out the season as badly as he finished last year, Matt Moore turned around his (and the Beavs) season and today was awared w/ the Pac10 player of the week award after the game agaisnt Hawaii.

DA looked solid yesterday, be interested to see how he would do starting a game, he might get that chance, very soon.

Decent week indeed, save for the fact that its never a good thing when your basketball team takes the court. The Hawaii game, Derek Anderson, and an amazingly good draw in the Sun Bowl make for quite a trio

It's gonna be a long year I fear. The LSU game should be ugly, but if your b-ball team comes to Corvallis as red hot as they are now on Dec 30, well at least we won the football civil war and baseball season will be less then a month away by then.

I honestly don't see how they could repeat. OSU lost Buck and Nickerson from the starting pitching and Gunderson is gone as well so no proven closer. Not to mention two starting outfielders, and 3 infielders.

The only full time starters coming back are the catcher and shortstop.

I know Casey has a pretty solid recruiting class coming in, but since they are all unproven, I am not sure what to expect. My guess is they will still compete for the Pac10 championsip, but as far as the CWS, I don't think they'll get that far. Of course I'd love to be wrong.
